LST 50
My father served on this ship for the whole of WWII in communications.  Sadly he has passed but i do have many many photos and the ships log while he was onboard, handwritten.  Over the holidays i plan on making a few copies and would be happy to send you won.  I've also promised to send one to the LST group that has the traveling ship & museum in Indiana.

This ship meant the word to my father and stayed in touch with many of his shipmates over the years. Especially the ship's captain, Tru Cummings.  Tru was a truely special and good man.  Many of the surviving fellows were involved in the LST association and i'd highly recommend connecting with them.
Nice to see someone remembers Dad's ship - so many stories. Thank you

LST 50
My father, John George Earley, was on LST 50 from 25th March, 1943 to 7th Oct, 1943 as Auxiliary Vessels Gunnery Officer for gunnery duties with senior officer 5th LST Squadron.  He was in fact in the Royal Naval Reserve in UK.

He was also on LST 410 and LST 322 from 8th Oct, 1943 until 29th June, 1944. Sorry the records do not show when he was on either of them.  He was also on HMS Odyssey, HMS Clement and HMS Lanka which found him in Colomo 1945-46 but we do not know which LST's he was on.

We know he was at Salerno, Anzio (beachmaster) and Normandy (beachmaster again).

If anyone has any information as to which ships landed on which beach we would be pleased to hear from you.
